History
For any armed forces in peacetime and in war conditions, each combat vehicle (tank, armored personnel carrier, and so on) is of particular importance, since the timely return to service of armaments and military equipment is the primary task of maintenance and repair services ( parts ). Often, the evacuation of weapons and military equipment has to be carried out literally from under fire , so most often the base of the armored repair and recovery vehicle was serial main tanks , which were converted (produced) for a specific task. The tower was removed from the tank, equipped with a winch, a crane boom, and other necessary devices. At first, the base of obsolete pre-war tanks was used in the form of a chassis for ARVs , however, when the technical capabilities of obsolete equipment converted in conditions of front-line repair units reached the technical limit, and, in addition, the need for such vehicles increased sharply, they took up more responsibility for the development of ARVs , putting in the assembly and a complete set of these cars on a stream. Today, such vehicles are mass-produced and are a whole workshop covered with reliable armor - the goal, like during the Second World War , is one - to save a damaged tank or other armored vehicle and put it back into service again.
BREM plays an important role during the fighting of tank units and subunits . It has special equipment: traction winches, lifting device, welding equipment and more.
For self-defense, machine guns are installed on the BREM [3] .
