Biography

In the state security bodies since 1945, he worked in foreign intelligence. In 1947 he was sent on a long trip to Egypt , he worked in the residency of the Information Committee in Cairo under the cover of an attache , then the 2nd secretary of the USSR Embassy in Egypt . He returned to the Union in 1950 and became an employee of the 3rd Directorate of the KI at the USSR Foreign Ministry (from November 1951 - the 4th Directorate of the PGU MGB of the USSR ). In 1953, for 5 years, he returned to Egypt with the promotion to the post of resident under the legal cover as 1st secretary, then counselor of the embassy. After the nationalization of the Suez Canal, he immediately predicted a quick war , which he sent a message to the Center. After returning to the USSR from 1958 to 1960, deputy head of the 8th division of the PGU KGB under the USSR Council of Ministers . [2] Resident of the KGB in Tunisia (1960–1962) and Rabat (1965–1967) under the guise of an adviser to the embassies of the Soviet Union. With the appointment of Yu. V. Andropov as Chairman of the KGB of the USSR, he became the Deputy Chief of the PGU of the KGB with the USSR Council of Ministers for the Near and Middle East and Africa (1967 - 1969). Again in a foreign business trip from 1969 to 1971 as the main resident [3] of the KGB in New York , under the cover of the post of Deputy Permanent Representative of the USSR to the UN . After returning to the USSR he retired.
