Content
Short Biography
In 1963 he graduated from high school in Medan . Since 1964, he began working as a proofreader for the Patriot newspaper, then as a journalist for the Sinar Masharakat newspaper (Society Light). Since 1965 - in Jakarta . In 1966-1968 worked in the movie studio "Perfini" and in the Association of film producers of Indonesia, in 1966−1969 - in the House of Culture (Balei Budaya). In 1969, Mr .. invited to the literary magazine " Chorison ", where he served as proofreader, then assistant editor [1] .
Since 2002, he underwent several operations, including on the heart [2] .
Creativity
He started writing stories and published in the late 1950s. The first story (“A Song in Rambung Tua”) was published in 1959 in the New Indonesia medan newspaper [3] and immediately attracted the attention of critics. The voice of the young writer sounded fresh and unusually interesting. Lyricism, mild humor earned him the title of Indonesian Chekhov (“Do you want to extinguish the traces of her lips on my lips with your lips,” “For whom are you whistling”, etc.). He published five collections of short stories and two short stories. Separate stories of the writer are included in school reading books on literature. Some works have been translated into English and German [4] .
