Biography

Ivan Bokarev was born on May 17, 1923 (in most award documents the date of birth is 1925 [2] [3] [4] [5] ) in the village of Bakaly ( Aksuysky district , Kyrgyz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , USSR ) in a family of Russian workers. In 1934, he moved with his family to the village of Borolda ( Keminsky district , Kyrgyz SSR ). In 1935 he graduated from 5 classes of a rural school, after which he was a combine operator and machine operator at the Kemin Machine and Tractor Station.

In December 1942, Bokarev was drafted into the Red Army , and from March 1944 he began to take part in the battles of World War II . He served in the 253rd Infantry Division on the 1st Ukrainian Front . He took part in the following offensive operations: Lviv-Sandomierz , Vistula-Oder and Lower Silesia , as well as in the battles for Sandomierz bridgehead .

On August 10, 1944, Junior Sergeant Ivan Bokarev, being the commander of the rifle division in the 979th rifle regiment, together with his subordinates entered the German trench near Tomaszow (in the Sandomierz region, Poland ), where during a hand-to-hand fight, he killed 4 enemy soldiers and seized the radio station, and during the counterattack of the German troops, he killed an enemy officer and saved (brought out from under the fire) a Soviet officer. On August 21, 1944 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On the night of September 24–25, 1944, near the village of Lukava (located 7 kilometers from the city of Sandomir), Nikolai Vasilievich, who was the commander of the detachment platoon on foot reconnaissance, took part in the reconnaissance battle , during which he was one of the first to break into a trench occupied Germans, during the battle was wounded but continued to remain in service. On October 21, 1944, an order was signed on awarding Ivan Bokarev the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

On February 1, 1945, Bokarev reconnoitered the enemy’s defense on the right bank of the Oder in the area of ​​the settlement of Globichen, which is 17 kilometers from the city of Glogow (Poland). During the formed march, an intelligence group under the command of Bokarev attacked a company of German soldiers, in this battle Bokarev destroyed several enemy soldiers and two soldiers were captured. On March 14, 1945, an order was signed according to which Ivan Vasilyevich Bokarev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

Soon after these events, Bokarev was seriously injured. Ivan Vasilyevich was evacuated from the German rear and sent to the hospital when he was unconscious and because of this, his awards remained in the military unit, but Bokarev never knew about the last awards. He returned to duty about a year after being wounded, and in March 1947 he was discharged with the rank of foreman .

After demobilization, he lived in the territory of the Kyrgyz SSR, in the Kemin district . He worked as a driver in the Pamir exploration department. In 1965 he moved to the city of Frunze (Kyrgyz SSR), where he worked as a plumber in the passenger fleet No. 3. In the first half of the 1980s, he retired.

In the late 1970s, Bokarev turned to the military commissariat in order to learn about the fate of his awards, which he had handed over in 1945 before leaving for the last reconnaissance exit. In 1979, awards were found, in addition to the existing awards, Bokarev was awarded two Orders of Glory of the 2nd degree, about the existence of which he did not know. After the awards were presented by the Commissariat, Bokarev was re-awarded to the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. On December 29, 1980, Ivan Bokarev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory .

As of 2001, Ivan Vasilievich lived with his family in the city of Bishkek (formerly called Frunze). Information on the further biography of Ivan Bokarev is missing.
