Margarita Dmitrievna Agreneva-Slavyanskaya ( 1880 - 1964 ) - Russian singer ( soprano ), choir conductor, director of the mixed choir " Slavic Chapel ." The youngest daughter of D. A. Agrenev-Slavyansky .

Biography

Margarita Agreneva-Slavyanskaya was born according to various sources in 1880 [1] or in 1881 [2] . Her father is the famous singer and founder of the mixed choir " Slavic chapel " Dmitry Alexandrovich Agrenev-Slavyanskiy , her mother is a folklorist and musician Olga Khristoforovna Agreneva-Slavyanskaya [1] .

Margarita Dmitrievna sang in her father’s choir. After his death in 1908, the choir was divided into two parts. Margarita Dmitrievna became the head of one of them, and the other, her brother Yuri Dmitrievich . Together with the choir, she toured in Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Austria-Hungary, France, England, China and Japan [3] . In 1922, Margarita Dmitrievna left the leadership of the choir [1] .

In the second half of the 1920s, she emigrated from Russia [1] . She lived in China for some time, in 1931 she settled in Chicago , USA [2] . There she founded out of 150 singers [4] , performed with him until the 1960s [1] . At the end of her life she moved to New York . She died on October 16, 1964 in one of the city hospitals [4] .
