Biography
Elvira Mikhailovna Shubina was born on February 18, 1939 in Sverdlovsk . Father, Mikhail Mikhailovich Shubin, was a native of the village of Pushilikha, Vyatka province (now Kirov region ), his mother, Maria Pavlovna Shubina, was a native of the village of Chigonok, Saratov Region . She studied at secondary school No. 19 of Sverdlovsk, studied in an amateur school circle.
In 1956-1962 she studied at the Ural State Conservatory. M. P. Mussorgsky (first in the evening department to the class of G. A. Nozdrovskaya, then in the full-time department) at the vocal faculty, specializing in “singing” (class by O. I. Egorova). During her studies, she worked for some time in production.
In 1962-1964 she performed at the Perm Philharmonic. In 1965-1967, she taught at the Department of Solo Singing at the Sverdlovsk Music and Pedagogical Institute .
In 1967-1990 (with a break in 1975) she was a leading soloist of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater named after P.I. Tchaikovsky . During her work in the theater she performed about 40 opera parts, including all the leading parts for soprano in the operas of P.I. Tchaikovsky - John, Iolanthe, Lisa, Maria, Nastasya, Natalya, Oksana, Tatyana (“Orleanska Virgo”, “ Iolanta, “Queen of Spades”, “Mazepa”, “Enchantress”, “Oprichnik”, “Cherevichki”, “Eugene Onegin”). After leaving the theater, in 1990-1997 she performed a lot of concerts.
She was elected as a deputy of the Perm City and District Councils of Deputies. She was a member of the CPSU party bureau, chairman of the theater's trade union committee, and a member of the theater’s art council.
She died on October 26, 1999 in Perm, was buried at the Shirokorechensky cemetery in Yekaterinburg [1] .
