Biography
Born March 3, 1911 in the city of Pavlovsk, St. Petersburg province (now part of the Pushkin district of St. Petersburg). Russian.
He graduated from the Shostkinsky Chemical Engineering College (1932). He worked in Leningrad at the experimental plant No. 1 of the NKSM: deputy chief and workshop head, head of design bureau (1936), chief engineer (1939). He participated in the creation of new models of military equipment.
In 1942 he was evacuated to the Gorky Region and sent to Sarov to the NKB Plant No. 550, which produced shell shells for the Katyusha Guards mortars. He worked as a senior technologist, chief technologist and then chief engineer. In 1945 he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor .
Since 1946, a participant in the nuclear project, chief engineer of plant No. 1 KB-11. On his initiative and under his leadership, a facility was developed that provided electron beam welding of various materials with a precisely specified depth.
In the 1950s, when the plant began to work with polyethylene, it proposed a method of manufacturing blanks in molds with steam heating.
For his great contribution to the development of new technologies and materials, he was awarded two Orders of Lenin (1950, 1956), in 1953 he became a laureate of the Stalin Prize . In 1955, according to the results of defense of the dissertation, the degree of candidate of technical sciences was awarded.
Since 1956, the head of the Special Department of KB-11 for the development of new materials and progressive technological processes.
Since 1960, the first deputy director is the chief engineer of the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (formerly KB-11).
In 1961, the Lenin Prize was awarded for the development of new technological processes and the development of new samples of nuclear charges in production. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 7, 1962, the title of Hero of Socialist Labor was awarded.
In 1979, due to health reasons, he was relieved of the post of chief engineer of VNIIEF. He initiated the creation of the VNIIEF Laboratory for Historical Research, and until the end of his life was its head.
Also among his awards are the Order of the October Revolution (1971), the Red Banner of Labor (1960), the Badge of Honor (1945), and medals. Honorary Citizen of Sarov (1979).
He died on January 9, 1989. He was buried in the city cemetery of Sarov.
