La Hague ( French: Vire Normandie ) - a new commune in the north-west of France , the Normandy region , the Manche department, Cherbourg district, the center of the eponymous canton . It is located 19 km west of Cherbourg-en-Cotantin , in the very northwestern part of the Cotantin peninsula on the English Channel .
