Story

Randall Raines ( Nicolas Cage ), nicknamed “Memphis”, after a long absence, is forced to return to his hometown - his brother Kip Raines ( Giovanni Ribisi ) took Raymond Vincent Calitri ( Christopher Eccleston ) an order to steal fifty expensive cars and could not fulfill him. Randall tried to repay his brother's debt, but Calitri forced him to take the order, despite the fact that Randall had long since been tied up.

Realizing that he alone can not cope, he turns to his old friend Otto ( Robert Duvall ), and together they try to find the contacts of their former colleagues in the theft shop. Randall's brother and his friends join this group, and together they are accepted for the operation. But, despite the detailed training and skill of the hijackers, Memphis does not have time to deliver the legendary Eleanor ( Shelby GT500 of 1967) on time due to problems with the police, who were tailing to him.

Once at Calitri, Memphis tries to convince his customer that being late in a few minutes is insignificant, and offers to leave $ 100,000 out of the promised two hundred for his bent car, but Calitri is implacable, and Memphis is being executed. Randall's police officer and long-time pursuer Roland Castleback ( Delroy Lindo ) is stopping Calitri from shooting Randall. Kalitri is about to kill Castleback, but Randall drops Kalitri from a great height. After a short chat, a police detective lets Randall go home for saving his life. Before leaving, Memphis tells Castleback the location of the stolen cars.
