Geographical position
The village is located in southern Chad, north-west of the River , near the state border with the Central African Republic , at an altitude of 508 meters above sea level [1] . The settlement is located at a distance of approximately 494 kilometers southeast of the country's capital N'Djamena .
Population
According to the official census of 2009, the population of Bekan was 23,249 people (11,253 men and 11,996 women). The population of the sub-prefecture in the age range was distributed as follows: 53.9% - residents under 15 years old, 43.1% - between 15 and 59 years old and 3% - aged 60 years and older [2] .
Transportation
The nearest airport is located 20 kilometers west of the settlement, near the village Begelkar [1] .
