Aiviekste ( Latvian: Aiviekste ) is a settlement in the Madona region of Latvia . It is part of the Kalsnava volost . It is located on the right bank of the Iviekste River at the regional highway P37 . Madona is about 32 km away. According to the data for 2017, 266 people lived in the village [1] . The village has Aiviekskaya hydroelectric station .

History
The settlement arose in the early 1930s in connection with the construction of the Iyivextskaya hydroelectric station.
In Soviet times, the settlement was part of the Kalsnava village council of the Madona district . The village was located North-East Production Department of the electric grid [2] .
