Description

A square redoubt in plan with Walangs for installing artillery in the corners is surrounded by a moat and a lodgement in the shape of an eight-pointed star. The length of the facets is about 60 m, the height of the shafts is 2–2.5 m, the width of the shafts is up to 5.4 m, the length from the corners is about 15 m. Along the shafts, remains of wide banquets (up to 1.7–1.9 m) are preserved for the arrangement of shooters.

According to the description of K.V. Nazarenko and V.I. Smirnova land in the center is sprinkled about a meter, the entrance was made in the middle of the face, presumably from the south side towards the road and was covered by a ledge of the lodgement. They believe that initially a redoubt was built, about 1.3 m high, behind which the arrows could stand directly on the ground. Subsequently, in the 1740s, the ramparts were refilled and a lodgement appeared. According to their calculations, taking into account the tactics of the 17th century, it was possible to install 360 soldiers in one or up to 600 in two lines at the banquet, and another 400 to 660 people in the lodgement. Moreover, in the description of K.V. Nazarenko and V.I. Smirnova noticeably a significant number of inaccuracies [4] , for example, they call the lodgement seven-pointed, the Vuoksa shore with the road to the neighboring Suvek-Shanets - southern, and the redoubt foma - a rhombus with angles of 80 ° and 100 °.
