Biography
He was born in Gorodets of the Novgorod province on May 10, 1884 in the family of an employee. He studied at Moscow University , in 1910 he graduated from the Natural Department of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. In 1913 he graduated from the Moscow Agricultural Institute .
In the years 1914-1918 - in the army, a participant in the First World War and the Civil War, officer of the tsarist army.
Since 1920, K. E. Murashkinsky - at the Siberian Institute of Agriculture and Industry , where he teaches phytopathology. In 1923 he became professor and head of the department of phytopathology, since 1930 he headed the department of plant protection. In 1938 he defended the dissertation of a doctor of agricultural sciences.
The husband of the mycologist and phytopathologist Margarita Karlovna Ziling (1896-1950).
He corresponded with foreign researchers, sent articles to journals in Austria, Germany, and France. In 1928, the Austrian mycologist Franz Petrak named the genus Murashkinskija after K.E. Murashkinsky . Petrak described a whole series of new species from samples collected by K. E. Murashkinsky and M. K. Ziling and sent to him. In 1943, Murashkinsky was awarded the badge of Excellence in Socialist Agriculture.
After the August session, VASKHNIL (1948) actively spoke out against the views of T. D. Lysenko (including immediately after the latter spoke at a scientific forum at the Siberian Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture in Omsk) and received a warning as an Weissman-Morganist . Soon professors A. A. Stolgan and K. G. Renard were dismissed, and K. P. Gorshenin also received a warning. Then K.E. Murashkinsky was accused of collaborating with the fascist regime because of an article published in 1943 in a German magazine on the fight against fungus that affects wood, which was used in aircraft construction (the scientist sent the article back to Germany in 1923).
September 25, 1948 committed suicide.
