Final
The final in the women's 60m race was held on March 2, 2018 [3] . Muriel Aure won the first gold medal for Côte d'Ivoire in the history of indoor indoor championships. Previously, the country had only two silver medals in these competitions, which Aura also won (in 2012 and 2014 ). The winning result of 6.97 was Africa's new record, the 12th result in the history of athletics (only five women ran faster than Aure) and the repetition of the best result in the world in the 21st century. The silver medal was won by another representative of Côte d'Ivoire Marie-José Ta Lou . Only runners from the USA previously occupied the first two places on the podium of the World Cup in the 60-meter race. Mujinga Kambundzhi finished third and won the first world championship medal in her career. Two-time Olympic champion in 2016 Elaine Thompson finished fourth, two-time world champion in the 200-meter race Daphne Schippers - fifth [4] .
