Story
What, brother, is there a millennium in our yard?
Big luck was Simon Cable. He wakes up in a hospital bed, absolutely not remembering what happened in the last two years. Dr. Newman gradually introduces him to the details of the last months of his biography. The patient does not remember his own wedding, and therefore his wife Anna seems to him a stranger. He does not suspect that his only brother was dead. Moreover, that he is somehow guilty of his death. So, at least, his new wife, Anna, claims when they are left alone. But then, according to the same wife, Simon has a lover whom his wife passionately hates and whom Simon, apparently, loved. With a spectacular slap in the face, Anna is trying to heal the fake, in her opinion, faithless amnesia.
But first, Simon needs to undergo tomography, which will allow him to understand how deeply amnesia sits in him, and whether his brain is ready to recover in full after an accident. While he is being prepared for research, an unknown person in a surgical cotton-gauze dressing injects him with an injection of some drug.
Forward to the
Simon goes into oblivion again. But waking up, does not recognize others. Instead of Dr. Newman, he is led by a doctor named Truman. And the woman that Newman said was his wife was just a nurse. And that the yard is still the twentieth century and the past millennium, that is, two years in his life are not lost. But the main thing is that he is in the same walls of the hospital in which he was at the previous awakening.
A healthy roof will go from such discoveries, and Simon tries unsuccessfully to convince everyone that he is not crazy, and that he was already here. This causes a fair displeasure of the roommates, and in the hearts of the seriously ill bedridden Mr. Trevitt calls Simon a psycho.
Do you remember the psycho?
But a new phase of oblivion sets in, and Simon reappears in 2002. Now the Amnesian must prove to the former doctor Newman that he had been in the past millennium before awakening, and that he had previously been treated in this hospital by the doctor Truman. Thanks to the occasion, he finds out that a patient by the name of Trevitt really existed and, moreover, still lies in another department on the fifth floor. Trevitt recognizes in Simon the same psycho, which Simon for the first time in the entire amnesia sincerely rejoices.
Simon learns the details of his brother’s death and the reason for his marriage: before his death, his brother regained consciousness and said out loud Simon’s name as the perpetrator of his death. The nosy nurse Anna wrote down this insightful revelation on the recorder and blackmail forced Simon to marry her.
You are dead, Mr. Cable!
Learning about his unusual abilities to navigate his past and future, Simon tries to anticipate the fateful day when he and Peter had an accident. Simon is back in 2000, on the eve of the fateful minute of sorting out his relationship with his brother. The brother found out that his bride, Claire, loved Simon, and Simon reciprocated her. A quarrel erupts and, stumbling, Peter falls down the stairs. Simon loads Peter into an injured and unconscious car and takes him to the hospital. But on the road, distracted by his brother who suddenly woke up, Simon lost control and crashed into the oncoming car, which Claire was driving. The denouement of the film is shocking - we have the Cable House. Simon meets brother Peter. The latter, after a short welcome dialogue, calls for his brother to calm down, put up with everything that happened: the accident and, accordingly, the death of Simon himself, Peter and Claire. Nevertheless, Peter speaks of a certain choice. It becomes obvious that this place is something like Purgatory, where it is necessary either to accept what has happened in life, or to lose the whole situation again in the same fantasical form in the hope of correcting everything. Prior to the choice, the hero reveals a real memory, which subsequently gave such a fantastic form. It turns out that Anna and Travis are the paramedics who pulled Simon and brother and Claire out of the car; Dr. Newman - his long-dead father; Travitt is a random patient who was seen dying by Simon; the nurse killer is simply the image of a surgeon who pumped out the main character. 2002 is actually a veiled time of death at 20:02. After the outbreak, the hero finally makes his choice - he decided to try again.
