Stefan Dou Schmidt ( date: Stefan Due Schmidt ; born August 28, 1994 , Copenhagen , Denmark ) is a Danish skater . Member of the 2018 Winter Olympics [2] .

Biography
Stefan Dou Schmidt was born in the capital of Denmark - Copenhagen . His father works as a photographer, and his mother is a nurse in a military hospital. For the first time he began to skate in 2001. He began training professionally in 2008 at the base of the HLF72 club. He spent a long time in training in countries such as the Netherlands and Germany [3] . From 2007 to the present, he has been training under the direction of Jesper Carlson ( Dat. Jesper Carlson ). Danish skater Philip Dou Schmidt is the sibling of Stefan. [4]
Sports career
At the moment, Stafan did not get medals in any competitions. His best performance was at the 2013 European Speed Skating Championships , which took place in the Dutch city of Heerenveen . In the final qualification result 118,212 he took twenty-second place [5] .
At the 2018 Winter Olympics, Staffan was announced to participate in the mass start . On February 24, in the final mass start race, Dou Schmidt finished with a result of 7: 47.53. In general, he took 13th place [6] [7] .
