Doreen Verche ( born Doreen Virtue , born April 29, 1958 [1] ) is an American writer [2] , a psychologist, an activist of new religious movements and a motivational speaker . Author of more than 50 mystical books. At the beginning of 2017, she stopped supporting and promoting new age , after which she adopted Christianity [3] .

Biography
Professional Activities
Born April 29, 1958 in a family of leaders of the new religious movement " Christian Science " [4] . She graduated from Entelope College of Liberal Arts in Lancaster (California) and Chapman University in Orange County (California) - Bachelor of Psychology (1986) and Master of Psychological Counseling (1988). Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology (1996), received a degree from a private university on the California coast (he received accreditation only in 2005). The topic of the doctoral dissertation is the tendency of adults who have experienced sexual harassment in childhood to develop bad habits and syndromes in themselves (including eating disorders [5] ).
Dorin Verche has been licensed as a registered psychologist ( Eng. Registered Psychological Assistant ) and therapist for marriage and family ( Eng. Marriage & Family Therapist Intern ) since September 6, 1989 [6] . For some time she worked as the director of the women's unit at the Cumberland Hall Psychiatric Hospital in Nashville (Tennessee) [7] . Author of a series of books on psychology and self-help, including the protection of the rights of the child and the fight against eating disorders [8] .
Mystic and New Age
Verche, in her words, showed clairvoyant abilities from early childhood: she saw some “angelic creatures” [9] , for which she was ridiculed and mocked by her peers. As a result of this, she tried for a long time not to pay attention to such phenomena. Verche claims that she turned to the New Age on July 15, 1995, when she allegedly saw a guardian angel. He allegedly warned her about trying to steal a car and forced her to start screaming loudly. It was thanks to Dorin's screams that passers-by scared the robbers who were trying to steal her car from the parking lot [10] .
Vercet took up the practice of the New Age movement, publishing many books on mysticism. She also released her own deck of cards for fortune telling, "The Angel's deck", consisting of 44 cards with images of angels, fairies [11] , indigo children , etc. [12] [13] . As a motivational speaker, Vercet repeatedly appeared on television and organized seminars for people in difficult life situations and suffering from serious psychological syndromes.
On February 25, 2017, Verce adopted Christianity and refused to further publish and write books that contradict the Holy Scriptures. She removed the relevant products from the sale, removed her name from books co-written and donated to the Hay Foundation Charity [14] .
Personal life
Between 1978 and 1988, Dorin was married to Larry Schenck, the sons Grant and Charles were born in a marriage. Verche stated that Schenk was inadequate and constantly insulted her, which is why they divorced [4] . The second husband is Dwight Verche, she divorced him for unknown reasons. In 1995, the third time she married, already with the owner of an art gallery in New Port Beach (California) Michael Tienharra, divorced him in 1999. For the fourth time, she married writer Stephen Farmer, who collaborated with Hay House , and divorced him in 2009 [15] [16] .
Since 1996, Dorin has been following a vegan diet [17] . In 2017, she stopped promoting propaganda of new religious movements and adopted Christianity: according to her, she decided on this on January 7, 2017, capturing the image of Jesus in the church [14] .
