Biography

Mulatto . Born in a mixed marriage - Hispanic father and mother of Guinea. In 1939, her father Angel del Poso, a planter from the island of Corisco, went to Spain, taking his daughter with him. In the province of Burgos, Raquel graduated from high school, then studied at the conservatory playing the guitar. She was fond of ballet , several times went with her father to Equatorial Guinea, where he remained trading enterprises. In 1968, the colony gained independence.

She married her fellow countryman and returned to Guinea with him. She lived in two countries, alternately in Madrid and Bath , although she felt, by her own admission, as in a cage, and Bata, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, gradually turned into an arena where the cruel dictator Francisco Masiasi Nguema ruled , who appointed himself the life president of Guinea.

Died in Madrid in 1992.

She made her debut with Ceiba in 1978 in Madrid, written between 1966 and 1978. She used the pseudonym Ilonbe - the name of the clan to which the poetess belonged on the maternal side.

In addition, in 1981 she published a collection of Guinean legends and fairy tales for children “Leyendas guineanas”. To collect material from her book, she traveled to unknown corners of Equatorial Guinea, collected folklore and endangered oral folk traditions. This is the first children's book in Equatorial Guinean literature.
