Olga Pall-Scartezzini ( German: Olga Pall-Scartezzini ; born December 3, 1947 , Goestling an der Ibs ) is an Austrian skier who performed in slalom , giant slalom and downhill . She represented the Austrian alpine skiing team in the second half of the 1960s, the champion of the Winter Olympic Games in Grenoble , the world champion, the winner of the three stages of the World Cup, the owner of the small Crystal Globe in downhill skiing, and the two-time champion of the Austrian national championship.

Biography
Olga Pall was born on December 3, 1947 in the municipality of Goestling an der Ibs , Lower Austria . She was trained in Innsbruck at the TS Innsbruck sports club of the same name, trained with her younger sister Lizi , who also became a well-known skier.
First announced itself in 1965, winning downhill competitions on the slopes of Madonna di Campiglio. A year later, she became a member of the Austrian national team and made her debut in the World Cup, which has been held since 1976.
She achieved the greatest success in her sports career in 1968, when she was awarded the right to defend the honor of the country at the Winter Olympic Games in Grenoble . She showed the ninth result in slalom, took fifth place in giant slalom, while in the downhill program she surpassed all her rivals and won a gold Olympic medal. Since the world championship was also played here at the same time, she additionally became the world champion in downhill. At the same time, in the classification of the combination, it is located on the fourth line. According to the results of the season, she was recognized as the best athlete of Austria for this outstanding achievement [1] .
Subsequently, she remained an active athlete until 1970. She took part in the world championship in Val Gardena , but could not get here among the winners. Over the course of her sports career, she climbed five times to the podium of the World Cup, including three stages she won (the highest position in the overall classification of all disciplines is eighth). He is, among other things, a two-time champion of Austria in alpine skiing.
After completing her career, the athlete mastered the profession of physiotherapist , worked in the Austrian team at the 1980 Olympic Games in Lake Placid and 1984 in Sarajevo . In the period 1990-2002, she served as vice president of the Austrian Ski Federation, then received the post of honorary president of this structure. Married to an Austrian skier and sports functionary Ernst Scartezzini. In 1996 she was awarded the honorary badge “ For Merit to the Republic of Austria ”.
