Galina Petrovna Diyanskaya (Kitkaeva, December 10, 1950 , Vasilenki , Sernursky District , Mari Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , RSFSR , USSR - April 18, 1999 , Moscow , Russian Federation ) is a Soviet and Russian specialist in the field of library services for the visually impaired and a typhlo-librarian . Doctor of Education (1999; posthumous), Candidate of Education (1990).

Biography

Born on December 10, 1950 in Vasilenki, soon after birth she moved to Moscow, graduated from school with a gold medal. In 1968 she entered the Moscow State Institute of Cinematography , graduating in 1972 with honors. After graduating from 1972 to 1975, she worked in various libraries in Moscow and the Moscow Region. Since 1975, she worked in various organizations for the blind.

Has released a number of projects, two of which are known abroad - “Youth Club Overcoming” and “Electronic Dictionary of Typhology”. On March 19, 1999 she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic “The principle of equal opportunities in typhlo-library science and library services for the visually impaired”. April 18, 1999, she suddenly died of acute cerebral hemorrhage due to overwork at work and lack of rest. June 25, 1999 she was posthumously awarded the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. Scientific works continue to serve as a tool for library services for blind and visually impaired people.

Memory

Every December 10, the RSLB hosts exhibitions of her scientific works, and every 5 years, during the anniversary dates, full-scale memory evenings are held, as well as a story about her fruitful life [1] .

Scientific work

The main scientific works are devoted to the problems of library and information services for the disabled. The author of over 50 scientific papers.
