Biography

Born on January 27, 1842 in Neustadt. He entered and after 5 years graduated from the course of classical philology at the University of Bonn . In 1871, he got a job at the University Library in Freiburg and after working there for a year he moved to the University Library in Breslau, where he was appointed as the chief librarian and worked until 1886, after which he decided to leave the position of chief librarian and transferred to the post of regular librarian there same. He did this only because he moved to the University of Gottingen as a professor of library science.

He died on January 13, 1903 in Gottingen.
