Turkmenabat International Airport ( turkmen . Türkmenabat Halkara aeroporty ) was opened on February 26, 2018. The international airport was built by the individual enterprise “Gundogdy”. The territory of the airport is 600 hectares, including the territory of the passenger terminal is 37,000 square meters. On the territory of the terminal are concentrated information boards, points of contact, luggage storage, cafeterias, coffee shops, and trade pavilions. There is a CIP hall, Duty free shops, and an Internet cafe.
The length of the airport runway is 3,800 meters and its width is 60 meters. The capacity of the airport is five hundred passengers an hour. Also, the airport is equipped with the latest ground-based facilities for flight support - a landing system and a rangefinder radio beacon, as well as lighting and meteorological equipment, which are used for all types of aircraft. The terminal complex includes an air traffic control tower, control rooms, landing systems, as well as air navigation and radio equipment of leading European companies. There is a centralized filling station that will serve dozens of aircraft, as well as the latest aerodrome technology purchased. In addition, on the new airport complex there are taxiways, as well as parking areas for aircraft. In addition, the airport has a medical center, a dining room, as well as a hotel with 100 seats and a covered parking lot.
