Biography
Igor Petrovich Kopylov was born on April 28, 1928. In 1952 he graduated from the Moscow Energy Institute. He studied in graduate school. In 1955 he defended his thesis, and in 1966 - his doctoral thesis.
In 1969 he was awarded the title of professor. In 1970-1972 he worked as a pro-rector for scientific work at Moscow Power Engineering Institute. From 1974 to 1989 he was in charge of the base department of the Ministry of Higher Education of Russia - the department of "Electrical Machines" of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute.
In his time, I. P. Korylov created a theory of generalized electromechanical transformation, which makes it possible to compose a mathematical model of any electric machine, proved the possibility of determining active and reactive power, energy indicators during transients.
Research interests: geo-and helioelectromechanics, new sources of electric power, development of new types of electric motors - synchronized single-phase, amplifiers, gearless, low-speed hydrogenerators for dam-free hydroelectric power stations, electromechanical converters; He studied the possibility of replacing copper winding wires for ferromagnetic, etc.
Under the leadership of I. P. Kopylov 60 candidate and 5 doctoral theses were prepared and defended.
At various times, IP Kopylov was a member of a number of scientific councils, a member of the editorial board of the magazines Elektrotekhnika and Elektromekhanika, and was elected a corresponding member of the International Engineering Academy, Honorary Academician of the IAR and AEN of Russia,.
