Biography
Igor Alexandrovich Grudin was born in 1945 in Vorkuta .
He played in the first league of the USSR championship for the Moscow Spartak. Since 1970, on coaching: children's coach (women's department of the Timiryazev Sports School); led the Moscow national teams of girls; since 1986 - coach of the women's youth teams of the USSR.
- 1994-1995 - head coach of the Russian women's team.
- 2004-2008 - head coach of the Russian women's team .
- Under his leadership, the national team won all sets of awards at the European Championships:
- 1995 - "bronze"
- 2005 - silver
- 2007 - “gold”,
- 2006 - became the second at the World Cup in Brazil;
- 2008 - took third place at the Beijing Summer Olympics .
- Under his leadership, the national team won all sets of awards at the European Championships:
- 2003-2007 - headed the Samara club VBM-SSAU, which was later renamed CSKA and moved to Moscow. Together with this team, he won the Russian championships three times (seasons 2003-2004 and 2005-2006 ), and won the Cup of the country the same number of times (2004, 2006-2007).
- Under the leadership of Igor Grudin, VBM-SSAU in 2005 achieved victory in the strongest club tournament in the Old World - the FIBA Euroleague.
- the Samara team with their mentor in 2003 became the first winner of the World Cup among women's club teams;
- in the same composition, he three times became the strongest in the World League tournament (2004-2005, 2007).
