Edik Koyrunovich Arakelyan (born 1940 ) is a scientist in the field of thermal and nuclear energy, a professor in the Department of Automated Systems for Control of Thermal Processes at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (1993-2005), Doctor of Technical Sciences. Biography
Born in 1940. In 1962 he graduated from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute (now the National Polytechnic University of Armenia). He continued his education in the graduate school of the Moscow Energy Institute - he studied there since 1965. In 1971 he defended his thesis at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, and in 1986 - his doctoral thesis on the research and optimization of variable modes of Thermal Power Plants (TPPs).
E. Arakelyan delivered courses for students and specialists at the Moscow Energy Institute: “Technical diagnostics of heat and power equipment”, “Modes of operation and operation of TPPs and nuclear NPPs”, “Optimal control of modes of operation of TPPs and NPPs”, etc., from 1993 to 2005 was the head. Department of Automated Control Systems for Thermal Processes [1] .
At the same time, at various times, Edik Koyrunovich Arakelyan was a member of the editorial staff of the magazines Vestnik MEI, News of the Universities Energy, New in the Russian Electric Power Industry, and others.
Research interests: the development of modern computer simulators, the development of automated control of thermal power plants using modern software and hardware, optimal control of operating modes of thermal power plants, reliability and environmental friendliness of control systems, etc.
