The Municipal Liberia ( Spanish: Asociación Deportiva Municipal Liberia ) is a football club from the city of Liberia , Costa Rica , the administrative center of the province of Guanacaste . Currently playing in the Segund , Costa Rica's second strongest division.

Content
History
The club was founded on June 7, 1977 . In the top division, the team debuted on July 29, 2001 . In 2007, the municipal club was sold privately to businessman Mario Sotel, who soon began to inject capital, which had a positive effect on the result. The team was able to win their first championship a year later, in the summer of 2009. This is currently the club’s only success. At the end of the 2017 Aperture season, Liberia took last place and left for Segunda.
The main colors of the club are yellow and black.
Stadium
Spends home games at the stadium of Edgardo Baltodano Briceño, accommodating 6,000 spectators. Named after the famous Costa Rican athlete of the early twentieth century, Edgardo Briceño, who was one of the founders of the now defunct La Libertad football club. The stadium was built in 1970 and renovated in 2013.
