Ivan Lishka ( Czech. Ivan Liška ; born November 8, 1950 , Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a German ballet dancer and choreographer of Czech origin, artistic director and choreographer of the Bavarian State Ballet (1998-2016).

Biography
Born on November 8, 1950 in Prague, in the family of the artist . He received his ballet education at the Prague Conservatory [2] , after which, in 1964 , he began performing at the Prague National Theater .
In the summer of 1969 left Czechoslovakia. From 1969 to 1974 he worked in Dusseldorf, at the . From 1974 to 1977 he danced at the Bavarian Ballet in Munich. After that, with his wife, ballerina Colin Scott moved to Hamburg, where from 1977 to 1998 he acted as the lead dancer of the Hamburg Ballet , collaborating with choreographer John Neumeier for more than twenty years. During this period, he created many leading roles in his ballets: Lysander (“ A Midsummer Night's Dream ”), Per Gynt in the ballet of the same name , Mozart (“ A Window on Mozart's World ”), Father (“The Cinderella Story”), as well as roles in “ Passion for Matthew ”, “Don Quixote”, “Schubert, String Quartet in C Major”, the main part in “ Odyssey ”. He was a partner of Natalia Makarova in “ Onegin ” by John Cranco (Paris, London, New York), Marcia Heide - in the film adaptation of “ Ladies with Camellias ” by John Neumeier.
In 1997, in Brno, in his homeland in the Czech Republic, he staged the first ballet The Dispute by Marivo .
September 1, 1998 became the director of the Bavarian State Ballet , left this post after the season 2015/2016 [3] .
