Biography
Born September 21, 1921 in Kiev in a working class family. Member of the Second World War [1] . In 1946 he graduated from the Faculty of History of Kiev University, then in graduate school there in 1949 [2] , and remained to teach (in 1949-1994) primitive archeology at the Department of Archeology and Museum Studies: teacher, senior lecturer, associate professor, in 1971-1987 years - head of the department. In 1957-1972 he led the Kanev archaeological expeditions of the University of Kiev.
In 1956 he defended his thesis on the topic: “Trade in Olbia in the Dogetian era” [3] .
In 1981 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: "The culture of cord ceramics and its role in the ancient history of Europe" [3] .
He died on December 30, 2000 in Kiev , was buried in the Forest Cemetery [2] .
Scientific activity
A circle of scientific interests was connected with studies of settlements of the Middle Dnieper culture in the vicinity of Kanev and a wide study of the problem of cord ceramics cultures. He led the Kiev archaeological expeditions in 1957-1972, and from 1974-1991. headed the research topic of the NICH of Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, the performers of which carried out archaeological research in the areas of new buildings in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkov and Lugansk regions [2] .
The author of about 70 scientific papers, including 7 monographs, educational and methodological manuals. Among them [2] :
