Biography
Born January 30, 1932 [1] .
After graduation, he entered the Moscow Power Engineering Institute . While studying at the Faculty of Energy under the leadership of A.V.Scheglyaev, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences and Professor S. G. Smelnitsky, he began to engage in scientific work. Upon graduation, he was invited to the department of Steam and Gas Turbines, where he has been working since 1955. Starting his career as an engineer, he continued to engage in scientific work and in 1965 he defended his thesis. Then he began to engage in teaching: in 1967 he was awarded the academic title of associate professor, since 1979 he has been working as a professor; The title of professor was awarded to Bulkin in 1988. He gives several lecture courses in the specialty "Gas-turbine, steam-turbine plants and engines", supervises the graduate design, scientific work of students, graduate students. Under the scientific supervision of A. E. Bulkin, three candidate dissertations were defended [2] [3] .
From 1972 to 1997, A. E. Bulkin worked as dean of the Faculty of Power Engineering (in 2002 he was transformed into the Institute of Power Engineering and Mechanics , EnMI [4] ). Over the years of being the dean with his direct participation, about 1,500 specialists have been trained for the power engineering industry of the USSR, including about 100 specialists for foreign countries. During this period of time, new specialties were opened at the faculty - “Machines and Technologies of Highly Efficient Processing Processes” and “Robots and Robotic Systems”. The professor supervised the development of new curricula and a number of other organizational and methodological documents in the area of preparation "Power Engineering" [2] [5] .
Written by A. E. Bulkin in collaboration with G. A. Filippov and B. M. Troyanovsky, the textbook “Steam and gas turbines of nuclear power plants” became one of the fundamental textbooks for student-turbinists in Russia and the CIS countries [6] .
Since 1992, Anatoly Efremovich is the supervisor of the research and training center MPEI on geothermal energy. With his participation, a project was developed and the construction of the unique Mutnovsky geothermal station in Kamchatka was carried out. From 1984 to 1999, Bulkin was the chairman of the specialized Council for the defense of candidate dissertations; during this period, about 200 master's theses were defended, including more than 30 theses by citizens of foreign states [2] [7] .
Merit
- For his many-sided activities, AE Bulkin was awarded the orders of the Red Banner of Labor, the Badge of Honor and the Order of Honor; medals “For Valiant Labor, in commemoration of the centenary of the birth of V.I. Lenin ”,“ Veteran of Labor ”,“ In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow ”; the sign "For excellent success in work" of the USSR Ministry of Higher Education and medals of the VDNH of the USSR [7] .
- In connection with the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Student Artificial Earth Satellite (AES) - an amateur radio communications satellite (launched into orbit on October 26, 1978 with the Cosmos-1045 satellite [8] [9] ), the development of which was attended by a group of EnMF employees AE Bulkin was awarded in 2003 one of the highest awards of the Russian Federation of Cosmonautics - the medal "For Merits" [10] .
- For his great contribution to the training and education of energy specialists, in 2004 he was awarded the MPEI Prize “Honor and Recognition” [11] .
- He was awarded the title "Honored Professor of MPEI" [12] .
