Biography
Born May 1, 1963 in the city of Puchezh, Ivanovo Region (USSR). Russian nationality. In 1980 he graduated from high school.
In the Armed Forces of the USSR from August 5, 1980. In 1984 he graduated from the Saratov Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots .
In the Republic of Afghanistan since October 1985. He served as the navigator pilot of the Mi-8MT helicopter in the 181st separate helicopter regiment of the Air Force of the 40th Combined Arms Army (military unit field post 70419; Kunduz city).
On October 25, 1985, the crew of the Mi-8MT helicopter performed a combat mission to deliver paratroopers to the area of operation, to a mountain site near the city of Hairaton , Balkh province. 25 kilometers northwest of the city of Kunduz, the helicopter was shot at, damaged and caught fire. The helicopter crew tried to land a burning car, but at an altitude of about 300 meters, the helicopter lost control and burned out in a collision with the ground. As a result of the disaster killed 4 crew members and a group of 10 paratroopers, including Lieutenant Bolshakov.
He was buried in the city cemetery in Puchezh [1] .
