Armin Shimerman ( born Armin Shimerman ; born November 5, 1948 ) is an American actor , voice actor and screenwriter who played the role of Quark in the television series Star Trek: Deep Space 9 .

Biography
Armin Shimerman was born into a Jewish family in Lakewood, New Jersey . Susan's mother, an accountant, and Herbert Schimerman's father, a painter. When Armin was 15 years old, his family moved to Los Angeles , where his mother recorded him in a drama circle. He played the trumpet in the music group of Santa Monica High School. He graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, and then worked at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego . Later he went to New York, where he served at the Impossible Ragtime Theater. Returning to Los Angeles, he received roles in two CBS series, thereby starting his film career.
Career
He is widely known for his role as Ferengi Quark , the owner of the bar in the television series Star Trek: Deep Space 9 , although his participation in the Star Trek franchise began with Star Trek: The Next Generation . Quark , the character of Shimerman, has become one of the most famous characters in the television series. By his own admission, the favorite episode is "Little Green Men" (season 4, episode 8), where he is shown by the captain of the ship.
Along with Marina Sirtis , Jonathan Freix , John de Lancey , Michael Ansara and Richard Poe , he is one of the few actors to play the same character in three different Star Trek series: The Next Generation, Deep Space, Nine "And" Voyager. "
