Biography

Born on January 1, 1926 in Karachev. Father - Matvey Alekseevich was a professor of philosophy and rector of GITIS , mother - Zoya Dmitrievna was a teacher. Soon after birth, he moved to Moscow and devoted his whole long fruitful life to this city. One of the first students of MGIMO who entered there in 1944, immediately after the opening of the educational institution in the same year that he graduated in 1949, in the same year entered the graduate school of IMLI , which he graduated in 1953. In the future, his life and work will be associated with the GBL , where he got a job in 1955 and worked practically until his death. He headed the sector of fiction and art.

He died on January 21, 2014 in Moscow, 20 days after the celebration of his 88th birthday.

Scientific activity

The main scientific works are devoted to the problems of organization and self-regulation of reading, as well as bibliography of works of world fiction and art. The author of over 100 scientific papers.
