Timofey Titovich Glukhenky ( February 4, 1902, v. Zhadovo - September 28, 1980, Kiev) - Ukrainian Soviet therapist, doctor of medical sciences (1938), professor (1938). Honored Scientist of the Ukrainian SSR (1968).

Biography

Timofey Titovich Glukhenky was born on February 4, 1902 in the village of Zhadovo, Semenovsky district, Chernihiv region of Ukraine. He studied at school number 2 in Chernigov. In 1925 he graduated from the medical faculty of the North Caucasian (now Southern Federal) University. In 1929 he defended his thesis.

Place of work: in 1925-1937 he worked at this university: as a doctor (1925-1929), assistant (1929-1931), associate professor of the department of therapy (1931-1938), concurrently dean of the medical faculty (1931-1938).

Later he worked in various universities of the USSR:

  • Head of the Department of Therapy (1938-1941), in 1938-1940, concurrently - Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Izhevsk Medical Institute (now the Izhevsk State Medical Academy);
  • Head of the Department of Therapy (1941-1944), concurrently Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the North Ossetian Medical Institute in the city of Ordzhonikidze;
  • Head of the Department of Hospital (1944-1945 and 1950-1957) Therapy, in the years 1946-1950 - propaedeutic therapy, since 1944, concurrently - Director of the Lviv Medical Institute (now the Lviv National Medical University named after Danilo Galitsky);
  • Head (1957-1975), in 1975-1980 - professor of the Department of Therapy at the Pediatric Faculty of the Kiev Medical Institute (now the Kiev Medical University of the UAMM).

Timofey Titovich Glukhenky died on September 28, 1980, was buried in Kiev at the Baykovsky cemetery (plot number 33).

Scientific activity

Scientific research T. T. Gluhenkogo devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular and respiratory systems; blood diseases and blood formation; treatment and prevention of endemic goiter in the Western regions of Ukraine. He studied the therapeutic effects of resort factors, in particular balneotherapy at the resorts of Truskavets, Morshyn, Lubin the Great; the state of the pituitary-adrenal system in patients with lesions of the internal organs.

At various times, prepared 40 candidates of science.

Proceedings

T. T. Glukhenky is the author of about 100 scientific works, including monographs. His main works:

  • "The content of glutathione in the blood of patients with internal diseases." Wedge Honey 1936;
  • "Treatment of edematous patients with ammonium chloride and the mechanism of action of this salt" (doctoral dissertation). Rostov-on-Don, 1937;
  • "VARZ-Yatchi Resort and its healing properties." Kiev, 1940;
  • "Clinic of goiter in the Western regions of Ukraine." 1947;
  • "The therapeutic effect of balneological resources of local resorts - Truskavets, Morshin, Lubin the Great." 1950;
  • "Treatment of pneumonia intravenously with sulfazole." 1959;
  • "Goiter disease." Kiev, 1959;
  • "Cardiovascular failure in thyrotoxicosis and its treatment." In the book: Proceedings of the VII Congress of Physicians of the Ukrainian SSR, Kiev, 1962 (co-authored);
  • Truskavets resort and its healing factors. K., 1958 (co-authored).
