The author of about 300 scientific papers, 50 of which are copyright certificates for inventions. His work enriched Soviet science with theoretical studies of electromagnetic transients in asynchronous electric drives, solving problems of measuring dynamic moments, and developing the theory of such rare drives at that time as electric drives with linear motors .
Biography
Born in 1916 .
In 1943 he graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, after which he immediately began his scientific career. In 1947 he defended his thesis, and in 1962 - his doctoral dissertation.
The scientific interests of Mikhail Sokolov represented a range of issues of an adjustable AC electric drive, where he created his own scientific school. [2] Professor M. M. Sokolov developed the theory of asynchronous electric drive with parametric regulation; one of the first to study and create thyristor- controlled alternating current electric drives. His works on electric drives with pulse control in the rectified current circuit of the rotor and asynchronous electric drives with saturation chokes are known.
Along with scientific, he was engaged in teaching activities - he lectured on the course "Fundamentals of Electric Drive", wrote several textbooks and teaching aids. He also prepared a number of highly qualified engineering and scientific personnel, including professors - Masandilov L. B. , Gornov A. O. , Moskalenko V. V. [1]
For his work he was awarded the title "Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR." [one]
He died in 1987 .
