Biography
Very little is known about Balian. He came from the Arsuf branch of the Ibelin clan, was the grandson of the last seigneur Arsuf Balian IV (1239–1277), the bali of the Jerusalem kingdom in 1268–1269, and the constable of the Jerusalem kingdom from 1268, sold in 1263 Arsuf to the Order of the Hospitaller .
Balian lived in Cyprus . In 1320 he married his second cousin Margaret. The Chronicle of Amadi announces the death of October 28, 1333 " messer Balian de Iblim signor de Arsuf "
