Sports career
Maria Vasiltsova began snowboarding at the age of 15 in Novosibirsk. Before snowboarding, she was engaged in figure skating for 9 years [1] .
At the beginning of her career she competed in snowboard cross-country and parallel giant slalom . Then she completely switched to snowboard cross.
In 2011, at the European Youth Olympic Festival in the she became 11th in the snowboard cross and 36th in the parallel giant slalom.
She made her debut at the European Cup on December 22, 2012 . The best achievement of Mary in the European Cup - 20th place according to the results of the 2014/2015 season.
At the stages of the World Cup, Maria Vasiltsova made her debut on February 17, 2013 in Sochi . In the 2015/2016 season, Maria won her first podium, becoming the third in the snowboard cross-country stage at , Austria .
Maria Vasiltsova 3 times participated in the world championships among juniors. The best for her was the 8th place in the snowboard cross in 2015 in .
At the World Championships in the Spanish Sierra Nevada, Maria took 17th place.
At the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, Vasiltsova, Maria dropped out at the quarter-finals, finishing in 18th place.
