Abi-Istadayi-Ghazni [1] [7] ( Abi-Istadai [8] , Abi-Istadayi-Mukur [5] [9] , Abi-Istada [2] ) is a shallow salt lake [2] in the south of Ghazni province in southeastern Afghanistan [1] .

The area of the lake is 130 km² [3] , periodically dries up [10] . The catchment area is 17,252 km² [6] .
The lake is located at an altitude of 2133 meters above sea level [1] within the Ghazni-Kandahar plateau [2] . Shallow, the maximum depth is 3.7 m [4] . There are two islands - Kuchnai-Gundai and Ustaza-Gundai [9] [3] .
In 1977, on the basis of the lake and the surrounding area, a reserve of the same name was created to protect rare bird species [2] , which currently covers an area of 270 km² [11] .
