Elizabeth Swainy ( Hungarian Swaney Elizabeth ; born July 30, 1984 in Berkeley ) is a Venezuelan and Hungarian freestyle player specializing in the halfpipe discipline . Participant of the Olympic Games.

Career
Elizabeth Swainy was born in Berkeley . She studied at the University of California , received a diploma in political economy . Later, she received a master’s degree from Harvard University in design. At the same time practiced athletics, tried herself in the skeleton .
At the age of 25, I first started skiing, aiming at getting into the Olympic Games. Since 2013, she performed in the ski halfpipe under the flag of Venezuela, but could not qualify for the Sochi Games .
Since 2015, in international tournaments represents Hungary due to the fact that her grandmother and grandfather come from this country. To qualify for the Olympics in Pyeongchang, Elizabeth had to get into the top thirty several times. To this end, she decided to perform at the competitions, in which less than 30 participants participated. [1]
Having thus completed the qualification of Swayne in 2018, she performed at the Games in the ski halfpipe . She did not perform tricks, just jumping low over the pipe and performing a 180-degree turn. As a result, with 30 points she took the last place, losing 15 points to the penultimate athlete who fell in both her attempts.
For her cautious driving style, Elizabeth was criticized, and the rules of the Olympic selection were also criticized [2] . However, other participants of the tournament expressed their support for the Hungarian skier.
The Hungarian Olympic Committee, in a statement regarding the performance of Swainy, stated that his representatives did not see her performances at qualifying starts, but decided to send her to the Games, since she had fulfilled the necessary qualification standards [3] .
