Vera Ivanovna Epifanova ( September 11, 1915 - February 24, 2001 ) [1] - scientist in the field of cryogenic technology , professor, doctor of technical sciences, laureate of the Stalin Prize of the USSR. Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR [2] . Full member of the International Academy of Refrigeration [3] .

Biography
Vera Ivanovna Epifanova was born on September 11, 1915 in the city of Rzhev, Kaliningrad Region . Her parents were teachers. She graduated from eight classes in high school, then studied in the first year of an aviation technical school in the city of Rybinsk . In Moscow, she received a higher engineering education at the Moscow Higher Technical School. N. E. Bauman [1] , becoming a graduate in 1937 [2] .
In 1948, Vera Epifanova became a candidate of technical sciences, in 1964 she defended the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences. During the Great Patriotic War, Vera Epifanova began working in the Glavkislorod under the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR, having worked there until 1966. For the first 10 years, she worked as the head of the laboratory, then another 11 years as deputy director for research at VNIIKIMASH. She was awarded the State Prize in 1951 for her scientific contribution in the field of cryogenic technology [1] .
Since 1966, Vera Epifanova worked at the Moscow State Technical University. N.E. Bauman as a professor at the Department of Cryogenic and Refrigeration Engineering. She was the editor of a two-volume monograph, Separation of Air by Deep Cooling. She wrote about 150 scientific papers, the textbook “Compressor and expansion turbomachines of radial type” [1] .
She prepared 9 candidates of technical sciences, was a member of the STC NPO Geliymash. She was a member of the Soviet National Committee on Cold and the International Institute of Cold from the USSR. In 1977, she was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR [1] .
Vera Epifanova died on February 24, 2001 [1] .
