Biography
Born March 16, 1886 in Vangamyz in the family of a paper mill master. In 1904 he graduated from Petershule . In 1904 he entered the Institute of Civil Engineers, which he graduated in 1914 and received the specialty of architect. He was a very capable student, for which the administration of the educational institution elected him to the post of head of the student library. Further work was associated with library science - he worked in various organizations of Leningrad. He worked as a teacher at the Leningrad Political and Educational Institute . From 1932 to 1959 he was in charge of the Hermitage library. During the Second World War, he led the evacuation of books and archival funds of the Hermitage.
He died on January 20, 1971 in Leningrad. He was buried at the Serafimovsky cemetery .
