Biography
Yuri Sergeyevich was born on July 23, 1921 in the village of Babkino, Mologsky district, Rybinsk province . He studied at the Mologsky secondary school. Krupskaya. According to the Komsomol ticket in 1938 he was sent to study at the Leningrad Military School . Studying at the school was interrupted, Yuri Kashkin in December 1939 was prematurely released and sent to war with the White Finns . Yu. S. Kashkin was the platoon commander of the 96th artillery regiment of the 90th rifle division. He returned to school in April 1940 , which he graduated in October 1940 . After graduating from college, Yuri Sergeyevich worked as an officer at 216 Air Base of the Leningrad Military District . Member of the Great Patriotic War , defender of the city of Leningrad from the first day of the war until its end. He fought in the 2nd division of the People’s Militia of Leningrad, was a platoon commander. When defending Leningrad, he was twice seriously injured and each time Yu. S. Kashkin returned to his regiment. Having received a third wound, Yuri Sergeyevich was demobilized from the ranks of the Soviet Army in November 1945 in the city of Rybinsk as an invalid of the Great Patriotic War .

Since 1958, he became the founder and director of Rybinsk Boarding School No. 2. Yu. S. Kashkin made his boarding school one of the best educational institutions in the Soviet Union. The Boarding Glory Museum was opened at the boarding school and the Search headquarters operated. Rangers on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Victory collected a lot of material about veterans of the 246th rifle division, which was forming in the city of Rybinsk .
At the boarding school every year in the month of January, the Kashkinsky readings are held. Among the graduates there are real heroes: pilot Nikolai Leskov - served in Afghanistan , died heroically during the battle in Chechnya ; the pilot Gennady Neustroev died in peacetime, the engines of the plane failed, saving the crew Gennady sacrificed his life.

On June 13, 1984, Yuri Sergeyevich Kashkin was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the city of Rybinsk [2] [3] .
Yuri Sergeyevich died on January 14, 1995, was buried in the city of Rybinsk in the Southern cemetery.
Memory
Rybinsk boarding school No. 2 is named after Yu.S. Kashkina. A memorial plaque was opened on the building of the educational building with the text “In this building from 1958 to 1987, the first director of boarding school No. 2, People's Teacher of the USSR, Honorary Citizen of Rybinsk, Yuri Sergeyevich Kashkin (1921-1995)” [3] . In 2001, a film was made about Yuri Sergeyevich Kashkin, his voice sounds on film in the school museum. December 14, 2002 is the day of memory of Yuri Sergeyevich Kashkin [2] .
