Etymology
The name Hochiml-Kuzmyonkovo village received in the XX century after the revolution. When merging the village of Hochiml and the village of Kuzmenkovo which is mentioned in the sentinel book of Karachevsky district for 1614. And the village of Hochiml was renamed the village of Hochiml-Kuzmenkovo.
History
Hochiml as a fortress apparently was founded in the XI century. Most likely after the victory of Vladimir Monomakh over the Vyatichi, led by the leader Khodot . The fortress was one of the strongholds of the princely power, gradually overgrown with the settlement and turned into a city. In the XII-XIII centuries is part of the Chernigov principality. After the death of Mikhail Vsevolodovich in the Horde in 1246, the principality of Chernigov was divided into fiefdoms. Khociml turned out to be part of the Karachevsky principality. It is possible that the fortress was burned down during the civil strife of 1310 between Prince Bryansk Vasily and Svyatoslav Mstylsavich Karachevsky. For the first time, Khotiml was mentioned in written sources in 1499 in the granted testimony of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Alexander Prince Simeon Ivanovich Mozhaisky .
