Biography
According to William of Tire , in 1153 he participated in the siege of Ascalon .
In 1156, he became the lord of Beirut after his brother, Gauthier II, entered the Order of the Templars.
He died between June 7, 1156 and August 16, 1164. Perhaps his widow married a second time to Rainier, a tripable of Tripoli.
Mary E. Nickerson, in her work “The Seigneury of Beirut in the Twelfth Century and the Brisebarre Family of Beirut-Blanchegarde” [1] offers the following chronology of the Brizbar rule:
- Gauthier I 1125-1126
- Guy I 1127-1140
- Gauthier II 1140–1147
- Guy II 1147-1156
- Gauthier III 1156-1166
