Biography
Boris Fedotovich Mazun was born on November 6, 1929 in the village. Old Lighthouse of the Kherson region of Ukraine. During the Great Patriotic War, he was evacuated with his parents to Omsk. In Omsk, he studied at the Federal Law, worked as a locksmith apprentice. At 19, he was drafted into the army. He served 4 years, sang in the army in the choir, danced in the ensemble. After demobilization, he left for Kherson , where he studied at the evening music school (teacher N. A. Krivova). In 1954, he was enrolled as a student in the Music College at the Moscow State Conservatory. P. I. Tchaikovsky, which he graduated in 1958 (teacher B. M. Berkovich) [1] .
In 1961 he graduated from the Novosibirsk State Conservatory named after M.I. Glinka with a degree in soloist-vocalist of a concert-chamber plan (teachers Professor Liya Y. Khinchin , A.P. Zdanovich), worked in the Novosibirsk Philharmonic. In the All-Union Glinka All-Union Vocal Competition in 1960, he received a diploma for successful participation, in 1964 - an honorary diploma of the first degree. Laureate of the All-Union Competition of Vocalists named after M.P. Mussorgsky.
In 1969, he quit the Novosibirsk Philharmonic and worked at the Kemerovo Philharmonic. He performed solo parts in symphony No. 9 of Beethoven, “Pathetic Oratorio” by Sviridov, “Requiem” by Verdi, “Requiem” by Mozart and others. During his work in the Kemerovo Philharmonic Society he toured to Switzerland, Iceland, Cyprus, France, Japan, Austria, Bulgaria , Czechoslovakia. In 1974, he was awarded the title Honored Artist of the RSFSR, in 1980 - People's Artist of the RSFSR.
In 1986, he was hired by the competition at the Rostov Music and Pedagogical Institute (now the Rostov State Conservatory named after S.V. Rachmaninov) as a teacher of singing. Since 1987 - assistant professor of solo singing, since 1992 - professor.
Boris Fedotovich Mazun died on January 17, 2005.
