About the album
This is the bandβs first album with guitarist Adrian Smith and the last with vocalist Paul Di Anno, who was fired due to problems with alcohol and cocaine. It is also the first Iron Maiden album with producer Martin Birch. The following eight albums were recorded with him before Fear of the Dark in 1992 . The song "Wrathchild" is the only track from the album, which is performed at almost all Iron Maiden concerts.
The song "Murders in the Rue Morgue" was written based on the work of Edgar Allan Poe " Murder on Morgue Street ."
