Scientific activity

The professor’s scientific activity is related to forest geobotany, ecology and conservation of the Carpathians , Rastochye and Western Podillia , where he studied the relict localities of pine , rock oak , broad-leaved linden , yew berry , Cossack juniper , which have been preserved from the early and middle Holocene and are important for elucidating centuries-old Holocene history of forest development. Using phytocenochorological and geobotanical methods, he studied the altitudinal differentiation of the vegetation cover in the Ukrainian Carpathians , where he distinguished 10 altitudinal vegetation zones and determined two variants of zonation — on the southwestern and northeastern macro slopes. The results of many years of research are summarized in the monograph "Oak forests of the Ukrainian Carpathians: environmental characteristics, reproduction, protection" (2009).

Professor Stoyko is the author of 10 scientific and popular science monographs and 400 scientific papers. The scientific heritage of the scientist is multifaceted and covers various areas of the natural sciences. The vast majority of works are dedicated to the Carpathian region. A significant contribution has been made to the history of science - this is a study of the heritage of outstanding Soviet and foreign scientists - V. I. Vernadsky , P. S. Pogrebnyak , A. Zlatnik .
