The Kharkov regiment participated in this notorious battle on the right flank , where P. I. Bagration commanded ... Having received news of the defeat of the Russians and Austrians in the center, he began to slowly retreat, fighting off the pressing French. Kharkov dragoons twice attacked the enemy cuirassiers, but in the end they were overturned. The figures of losses testify to the tension of the battles: the next day the regiment did not count seven officers and 141 non-commissioned officers and privates in its ranks, 208 horses were killed and wounded.

  • 1812 - Tarutino battle :

During the battle, the Kharkov regiment "with excellent courage attacked the enemy twice: ... knocked over it and, cutting into the very ranks of them, led him into great frustration and drove them to their very columns."
