Biography

Isaac Iosifovich Rogozin was born in 1900. In 1925 he graduated from the Kiev Medical Institute (now the A. A. Bogomolets National Medical University). After graduation, he served as a doctor in parts of the Red Army. Since 1930, he conducted scientific and pedagogical activities. In 1939-1951 he worked as the head of the Main Sanitary and Anti-Epidemic Directorate of the USSR Ministry of Health, in 1943-1951 he headed the Department of Epidemiology at the 2nd Moscow Medical Institute (now N. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University). From 1951 to 1964 - Head. Department of Epidemiology of the Military Medical Academy named after S. M. Kirov. He received the title of Major General Medical on May 7, 1960.

At the time, I. I. Rogozin was the leader and participant of 36 scientific expeditions involved in the study of infectious diseases.

Research interests: epidemiology, microbiology, immunobiology, immunization against tetanus.

Under the guidance of I. I. Rogozin, 10 doctoral and 37 master's theses were completed and defended.

At different times I. I. Rogozin was on the board of the All-Union Society of Epidemiologists and Microbiologists, was a member of the editorial board of the Epidemiology section of the Big Medical Encyclopedia.

He resigned on August 27, 1968. Isaac Iosifovich Rogozin died on January 17, 1973 in Leningrad.
