Joseph Francis "Joe" Fitzgerald ( born Joseph Francis "Joe" Fitzgerald ; October 10, 1904 - March 20, 1987 ) - American hockey player, striker; silver medalist at the 1932 Winter Olympics. After a playerβs career, he is a teacher and teacher in college.

Biography
He studied at Boston College, played American football and baseball, as well as hockey. He graduated from college in 1928, played for an amateur hockey team. He taught at Reading High School in Massachusetts. As part of the US ice hockey team, he won silver medals at the Lake Placid Winter Olympic Games. After the Games, he declined the offer from the NHL.
In 1937 he received a master's degree in education from Boston College, worked as a coach and teacher in baseball and American football. For 28 years he taught mathematics in college and was an assistant director. In 1956 he moved to Wellesley College, where he taught mathematics until 1970.
