The match for the title of world champion in international drafts 1907

The match for the world champion title in a hundred-cell checker between world champion Isidor Weiss and the Dutch champion Jacob de Haas took place in Amsterdam from May 19 to 28, 1907. According to Dutch newspapers, the world title and 1,000 Swiss francs were played in the match. Perhaps this is the first competition in the history of drafts, at stake which officially stood the world title. The match was played on most of the 20 games. Two games were played per day. De Haas won the first game, and Weiss the second, sixth and ninth. Then a series of ten draws followed. The last batch of the match was won by de Haas, but she already decided nothing. Thus, Isidore Weiss won with a minimum advantage of + 3-2 = 15 and retained the title of world champion.
